Manjeshwar Fed: A Sustainable
Step Towards Health and
Farmer
Prosperity
Manjeshwar Fed Farmer Producer Company, registered on January 23, 2024,
under the
Companies Act in the Manjeshwar Block, is dedicated to enhancing farmer
incomes
through
value-added jackfruit products. The Board of Directors is actively working to
establish a
production unit as part of this season’s project plan. The company has also
received approval
from the State Agriculture Department to operate a retail outlet — the
first organic
supermarket in Kasaragod district — under the Kerala-Grow initiative. This
outlet will showcase
and sell organic, pesticide-free products. By promoting healthy
food
choices and addressing
lifestyle diseases, the company aims to create public awareness
and
reduce medical
expenses, helping communities avoid the financial burden of hospital
treatments through
better nutrition and sustainable agriculture practices.
Message from Our Leadership
Manjeshwar Farmer Producer Company (MFFPC) is registered under the Ministry
of Corporate
Affairs of the Central Government (Registration Number), as part of the Farmer
Producer
Organization (FPO) initiative. This is a central government scheme created to
provide
farmers,
who work hard on the land, an opportunity not only to earn through cultivation but
also
to
generate income through business by producing and selling value-added agricultural
products.
The goal of this company is to establish a large-scale factory that produces various
products
from jackfruit, which is abundantly available in our region. The plan is to purchase
jackfruit
directly from local farmers, offering them fair prices, and to produce a range of items
through
this factory. The profits from these operations will be equally distributed among all farmers
who
purchase shares in the company worth ₹2000.
Only farmers residing in the Manjeshwar Block — specifically from the panchayats of
Manjeshwar,
Meenja, Mangalpady, Vorkady, Paivalike, Puthige, and Enmakaje — are eligible to
buy shares
in
this company. In each of the 7 wards of these panchayats, only 15 people per ward
will be
allotted shares.
As the company’s operations are actively progressing, it is also managing a Kerala-Grow
Supermarket in Manjeshwar, granted by the Department of Farmer Welfare, Government of
Kerala.
The profits from both the jackfruit factory and the supermarket are exclusively for the
shareholders of the company.
